American Guild of Organists – Milwaukee Chapter

Founded in 1919, the American Guild of Organists (AGO) Milwaukee Chapter is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the art of organ and choral music throughout Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin. As one of the nation’s long-established AGO chapters, we serve organists, choral directors, church musicians, music educators, students, clergy, organ builders, technicians, and music enthusiasts who share a passion for preserving and promoting this rich musical tradition.

Our mission is to enrich lives through organ and choral music by fostering education, artistic excellence, professional development, and community engagement. Through concerts, recitals, workshops, masterclasses, educational programs, and networking opportunities, the chapter supports musicians at every stage of their careers while inspiring new generations of performers and audiences.

The Milwaukee Chapter celebrates the cultural and historical significance of the pipe organ by showcasing exceptional instruments and performers throughout the region. Our programs provide opportunities for lifelong learning, collaboration, and fellowship while encouraging the appreciation of sacred and concert music within diverse communities.

Membership is open to everyone from professional musicians and educators to students and individuals who enjoy organ and choral music. Members benefit from educational resources, professional networking, job postings, substitute organist listings, performance opportunities, and access to a vibrant community committed to musical excellence.

For more than a century, the AGO Milwaukee Chapter has remained a trusted resource for preserving the region’s organ heritage while embracing innovation and expanding public appreciation for this remarkable art form. Through partnerships with churches, educational institutions, arts organizations, and community groups, we continue to strengthen the cultural landscape of Southeastern Wisconsin and inspire audiences through the timeless beauty and power of organ and choral music.
